Navigating the intricacies of the entertainment business can be a daunting task. Weber Gallagher attorneys strive to form long-lasting relationships that will allow our clients to focus on what they do best - displaying their artistry. Drawing on the experience of a multi-disciplinary firm, Weber Gallagher’s Entertainment Law group provides counsel to recording artists, songwriters, record labels, publishers, producers, artist management companies, promoters, casinos, performance venues, concert halls, arenas and taverns, as well as other individuals and businesses in the entertainment field. Members of the group draft and negotiate agreements, assist with intellectual property issues including copyrights, trademarks and service marks and form business entities. Our lawyers also facilitate dispute resolution and when necessary, provide litigation services to protect our client’s rights and interests in entertainment-related lawsuits.

Representing artists at all levels of the music business, from local up-and-comers to indie label artists to Grammy winners and major label acts, we facilitate artists’ careers at each rung on the entertainment ladder.  As a complement to our role as entertainment attorneys, we serve as counselors who provide business and career advice to assist and guide our clients throughout their careers. We routinely advise artists at the early stages of their careers and help them to organize their business, enter into sensible agreements, make informed decisions and avoid long-term issues that commonly befall the unwary and unrepresented artist.

Among other projects, we have negotiated, drafted and provided advice and guidance in a variety of music industry matters including contracts and band agreements, business formation, A&R representative agreements, label-shopping agreements, performance agreements, management deals, artwork release, music and book publishing, administration deals, production agreements, record label contracts, merchandising, touring and promotion, branding deals and licensing.

Adding to the entertainment-specific services we provide, Weber Gallagher offers counsel and representation in other legal areas that impact upon the personal lives of our clients. Such ancillary services include the areas of criminal law, family law, including divorce, custody, support and complex equitable distribution as well as lifetime and estate planning.

Our Entertainment Law group is chaired by Marc T. Levin, who can be reached at 717-237-6940 or mlevin@wglaw.com.
